was built in 1929 by Harbor Boat Works on Terminal Island in The Port of Los Angeles. During a time that the country was in hardships, Portola was a symbol of hope that there was still a chance to make it through the tough times.

Built in Southern California, Portola has been berthed here her entire life. With occasional trips up and down the West coast and into Mexico, Portola has never had to deal with rains of the North West, nor the freezing and humid weather of the East Coast, she has always been maintained in the best environment for a wooden vessel.
